Following the tragic shootings in France at Charlie Hebdo, France has passed a controversial new surveillance bill permitting warrantless phone and email taps. It's scarily reminiscent of America's rush to pass the PATRIOT Act, as citizens trade their freedom for security. Glenn has the story and reaction — READ.

Well, leave it to France to leave us with two big head scratchers today. You would think there's no bigger supporter of free speech than someone who has lost friends and colleagues to psychotic Islam. But, a Charlie Hebdo cartoonist has distanced himself from what happened in Texas, claiming the cartoons published in Charlie Hebdo — featuring the Prophet Muhammad in sexually graphic situations — aren't anti-Islam. The Texas cartoonists and organizers? Racist Islamaphobes. Does that make any sense? Glenn has the story and reaction on radio — WATCH.

Rep. Steve King joined Glenn on radio Wednesday to discuss the shooting in Texas. During the interview, Rep. King expressed his support for the "Draw Muhammad" event and its organizers, as well as the danger radical Islam clearly poses to the United States and the West. Get more on this story HERE.

25-year-old NYPD Officer Brian Moore was shot in the face and killed over the weekend, yet there has been little public outcry. Last night, on the Glenn Beck Program, Glenn questioned why Moore's death does not get the same reaction as others. Do all lives matter, or just some? WATCH

Discovered by scientists in Denmark, this 2oz piece of precision engineering can turn more than 947 liters of E. Coli, poop and even Fly Egg infested water into fresh, clear and clean drinking water… for pennies on the dollar compared to traditional water filters. See shocking video on how this "magical" device can save your life in a crisis. WATCH

A high school baseball player lost his college athletic scholarship after video of him using racial slurs at an opposing player surfaced on the internet. This morning on radio, Glenn, Pat, and Stu discussed if the young player's punishment was too harsh or justified. See Glenn's reaction HERE.

Glenn to Chris Matthews: 'Is there anything you won't sell out for a ratings point'?
When bad things happen, you can tell who the real people of principle are based on how consistency their reaction is. For example, Jon Stewart stood up for freedom of speech with BOTH Charlie Hebdo and the "Draw Muhammed" event. Way, way, way on the opposite end of the spectrum is one of the worst people in the media — MSNBC's Chris Matthews. Glenn called Chris's comments on the Texas shooting "shameful" — get the full story HERE.
