FROM THE NETWORK CORE TO THE NETWORK EDGE

Traffic management becomes critical as your network
infrastructure expands to support different types of traffic and
users. Most traffic management solutions have serious
limitations: too expensive, difficult to use, and overly taxing
on bandwidth. However ProCurve Networking by HP addresses these
requirements, overcomes the limitations of other solutions, and
gives you valuable insight into LAN performance.

NETFLASH: BREAKING NEWS FROM NETWORKWORLD.COM

By Jeff Caruso

Remember when Google used to be nothing more than a mighty fine
search engine? As you know, the company continues to build on
that base - and the next area to conquer is apparently
networking itself. The rumor is that Google is building a
nationwide network. One observer sums it up succinctly: "Google
is coming."

IBM eyes SOA management

Industry analysts have declared that service-oriented
architectures are the next big thing, and IBM is not arguing
with that. In fact, the company is ramping up software to manage
all the expected SOA-enabled applications.

Q&A: Tivoli's take on SOA

Tivoli, IBM's management software arm, last week said it would
soon offer software that will let customers manage
service-oriented architecture-based applications. Alfred Zollar,
general manager at Tivoli software, sat down at the Share user
conference in Boston with Network World Senior Editor Denise
Dubie to discuss how the company plans to help customers manage
and optimize performance of this emerging technology area.

VoIP season about to heat up

September should be a big month for VoIP technology, with
vendors expected to launch a host of offerings at a pair of big
trade shows focused on converged networks.

FCC delays VoIP emergency dialing requirement

The FCC has delayed an Aug. 28 deadline for VoIP providers to
warn customers about limitations of enhanced 911 emergency
dialing service, after VoIP carriers complained that tens of
thousands customers could lose service next week.
