IBM software attacks critical application security issues, 11/13/07: IBM Tuesday introduced software it says will help customers protect Web applications from attack, particularly from the nefarious “cross site request forgery” in which an attacker can fake a request to a site gaining access to sensitive information.

With Cognos buy, IBM abandons vow not to compete with partners, analysts say, 11/12/07: IBM’s $5 billion takeover of Cognos Monday shows that Big Blue is abandoning its longtime policy of not competing against partners who sell business applications, analysts say.

IBM agrees to buy Cognos for $5B, 11/12/07: IBM has agreed to buy business intelligence software vendor Cognos for around $5 billion in cash.

IBM brings business intelligence to autonomic tools, 11/08/07: IBM today introduced upgrades to a handful of products and services that Big Blue says will help customers using its autonomic computing software and services better support the business with technology.

Jetstar checks in with IBM in $2.7 million deal, 11/08/07: Australia's low fare-airline Jetstar has signed a multimillion-dollar commercial agreement with IBM Global Business Services to supply, implement and support Web Check-In and Kiosk solutions for its domestic customers.
