| Joe -- How often does something you did wind up in the history books? Well, this is one of those times. Health care reform has changed the course of American history -- millions of people now have access to affordable health care. You should be proud of the role you played, Joe. OFA is marking this historic victory by putting together a permanent record of everyone who had a hand in making health care reform happen -- make sure your name is on it. But this success belongs to all of us -- a long line of progressive reformers dating back to Teddy Roosevelt, who was the first president to introduce the idea of giving all Americans health care. It's humbling to know we are all part of that legacy. And we belong there. We never let up -- not when they threw misinformation at us, not when they challenged reform in Congress or in the courts, and certainly not when they shut down the government to try to stop funding for health care reform. We kept doing our jobs -- we organized. And now, thanks to that work, more than 7 million people enrolled through the marketplace -- on top of the millions of others who are now covered through Medicaid expansion or from being able to stay on their parents' insurance. Today, we live in a country where no one can be refused coverage because they got sick. That's history. That's why we're putting together a permanent record -- which we'll install at OFA headquarters -- of the names of everyone who fought for reform. Your name belongs on that list -- go add it today: http://my.barackobama.com/You-Made-History Thank you, Lindsay Lindsay Siler National Director of Issue Campaigns Organizing for Action | |
