WiFi Security 101: WiFi Security 101: Lesson 4
from Tony Bradley, CISSP, your Editor and Guide This lesson wraps up this basic wireless network security course. The information from Lessons 1 through 3 will help you set up and secure a wireless network. These last 2 tips will put the finishing touches on your network security though to make it even harder for all but the most knowledgeable and dedicated attackers to access your wireless network.
Filter Devices Based on MAC Address
Rather than letting any device connect to your wireless network, you can set it up so that only the devices you identify beforehand are allowed to connect.
Disable DHCP | |
Don't let your router provide IP address information to just any old device that requests it. Turn off DHCP and assign static IP addresses to increase your security
