I will probably be inundated with "out-of-office" email replies to this newsletter with today being a holiday in the United States. There is some new information this week about a vulnerability in Internet Explorer and Computer Associates purchase of Tiny Software. I participated in a Windows Security Clinic aimed at diagnosing and eradicating spyware issues which I posted a link to. But, my main point to you this week is to remember the basics. Don't get so caught up in new tools and features that you forget to execute the simple steps that prevent the majority of security issues. For those of you in the United States, have a safe and happy Independence Day celebration.

Follow these basic precautions to secure and protect your wireless network.

Password Security
With all of the improvements and advances in security, the password remains as the primary key to unlock most applications and systems. It is important that you choose passwords that are not easy to guess or crack. This article will show you how.
