Today's focus: Google is full of baloney

By Jeff Caruso

Google claims that its plan to index every book under the sun is
"fair use." So why is the company offering an "opt-out" option

Face-off: Are smart networks a good investment?

Aventail CEO Evan Kaplan calls smart networks the "Star Wars

Read both sides and use our forum to put in your own two cents.

Kaplan: No

Convergence is all-encompassing

Combining voice and data onto the same network sounds like a
fine idea on paper. But once you start down that road, the voice
people and the data people have to work together like never
before. In fact, the way you manage your whole company has to
change. Johna Till Johnson explains.

The good ol' days?

Ten years ago, Network World took its first steps onto the Web
with Network World Fusion. Networking was a whole lot different
back then. Chuck Yoke takes a stroll down Memory Lane this week
in his User View.
