ITExpo 2007 recap: Announcements from Clarus, Comverse, Contactual, Paraxip

By Steve Taylor and Larry Hettick

At the Internet Telephony Expo held earlier this month, several companies announced new products. They included:

* Clarus Systems, a leading provider of integrated management and testing solutions for IP communications, announced the addition of a voice monitoring module to an enhanced version of its flagship application, ClarusIPC. The module is designed to help users monitor voice quality, service availability and security conditions through the use of a sophisticated rules and policy engine. Clarus Systems CTO Richard Whitehead said: “Our Voice Monitor takes flexibility and scalability to new levels. [It] helps identify incorrect call routing that can impact operations and drive up costs."

* Comverse, a leading supplier of software and systems for network-based multimedia enhanced communication and billing services, announced the launch of MyCall Converged Communications for the U.S. market. The system delivers consumer telephony and messaging services with a unified user interface over fixed broadband and mobile networks. James Colby, VP of marketing of Comverse Americas said: “By integrating MyCall, service providers can develop ‘3 screen’ strategies – mobile, PC and TV - and offer truly integrated converged communication services.”
