Vaughan-nichols Google makes headlines if it sneezes, so it isn't surprising that the company's latest announcement, a revision of a Web app called GrandCentral now renamed Google Voice, has caught the attention of the Webverse. Yes, after almost two years in development limbo, Grand Central Communications, purchased by Google in July 2007 for a reported $50 million and renamed simply "GrandCentral," is about to reappear as "Google Voice." GrandCentral, one call to bind them all How many telephone numbers does one person actually need? I ask because I seem to have more than one would think I might need. Google Re-Launches GrandCentral Phone Service Google re-launched its phone management service GrandCentral today renaming it Google Voice. The service keeps most of the original core GrandCentral features and adds voicemail transcripts, conference call functionality, and archived searchable SMS text messages.
