Telecom provider pleads guilty to bribery charge
Latin Node, a provider of telecommunications services to Latin America and other countries, has pleaded guilty to violating the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act in connection with millions of dollars in bribes paid to telecom officials in Honduras and Yemen, the U.S. Department of Justice said.

CIOs split on Cisco blades vs. HP networking: survey
A UBS survey of just over 100 CIOs found an even split on whether Cisco and its new blades, or HP's networking momentum would have greater success over the next five years. Ninety-four of the 104 CIOs surveyed were from the US and Europe.

Cisco, others, benefit from carrier Ethernet spending
File this under, it ain't all bad. Despite the deep cuts in spending expected this year due to the global economic recession, service providers will still increase spending on carrier Ethernet equipment by double digit percentages, according to Infonetics Research. That can only be good news to Cisco and every other vendor making and selling carrier Ethernet gear.
