The Cisco Subnet blog: Cisco on Wednesday released 11 security advisories -- nine for IOS and two for Unified Communications Manager. Several deal with denial of service vulnerabilities and others with holes in encrypted packets, authentication proxies, ACLs, firewall policies and Internet key exchanges. Two involve Cisco's implementation of the SIP protocol. Read full story

Cisco and Pelco enter into partnership for HD surveillance
The Cisco Subnet blog: Cisco and Pelco, a Schneider Electric company, have entered into a strategic partnership to pursue joint development of high-definition, IP-based video security cameras. Pelco's Sarix imaging technology will be melded with Cisco's IP expertise to make a co-branded product to be sold through Cisco channel partners.The cameras are expected at the end of this year.

Survivable Remote Site Telephony part 2
Dennis Hartmann: After a Cisco IP phones registers to the Cisco SRST gateway, the Cisco IP phones will continue to send keep alive messages to the primary Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) server.

MGCP Fallback and H.323 Call Preservation
Dennis Hartmann: MGCP gateways that lose connectivity to their primary Cisco Unified Communications Manager won't drop calls, but the MGCP gateway cannot be used for any new inbound or outbound calls during a CUCM outage.
