EMC lures away Intel executive; Tucci to stay as CEO until 2012 EMC has remade its management team by luring a high-ranking executive away from Intel, potentially setting up a succession process for chairman and CEO Joe Tucci who will stay at EMC through 2012. Intel exec Gelsinger leaving for EMC Pat Gelsinger, a top executive who has been with Intel for 30 years, is leaving the company for EMC, an EMC spokeswoman said Monday. Report: Cisco, EMC creating new joint venture arm Cisco and EMC plan to launch a joint venture services company that would focus on installing and maintaining networking and storage equipment from the two companies, according to a report. Cisco, EMC in joint venture? Cisco and EMC won't confirm it of course, but there are numerous rumors and reports that the two are about to launch a jointly-funded joint venture under the code-name "Alpine." The joint venture is said to be a separate company chartered to integrate, sell and install new data center compute, networking, storage and virtualization products to enterprises and service providers. EMC expands services, training for private cloud As users gathered at VMworld in San Francisco on Wednesday to learn about virtualization and cloud computing, EMC was stepping up its efforts to help enterprises that adopt private clouds do it right.
