Tyco Acquires Broadview for $2 Billion

Tyco International has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Brink’s Home Security Holdings, now operating as Broadview Security for $42.50 per share. The deal which has been approved by both company boards combines leading companies in commercial and residential to operate under the ADT name.

Pelco Lays Off 100 workers, Opens Plant in China

Pelco announced another round of layoffs due to slower than expected sales. The reductions primarily affect the Clovis, CA manufacturing plant. The company will open a new production assembly in Wuxi China in April of this year which will manufacture some of the same products as those made in the Clovis plant according to reports in the Fresno Bee.

Smiths Detection has announced the award of multiple DHS contracts to expand its PROTECT security system at Washington D.C. Metropolitan Transit Authority. The system to be upgraded and expanded is designed for early warning detection of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) materials.

AXIS Closes Strong in 2009

Axis Communications announced that the company will report a strong close to 2009 with interim net sales of SEK 2,300 million and an interim operating profit of SEK 308 million. Axis will thus present earnings that are significantly better than the market’s expectations.

Diebold Names Deignan CMO

Provinsal Named Vicon VP Marketing, Product Management
