Survey Shows Deduplication Adoption Could Save U.S. Companies $6 Billion Annually in File Restore Costs Most IT professionals know that restoring files from lost or corrupted data can be both time-consuming and costly, but just how much time and money can sometimes be hard to quantify. A recent survey shows that most enterprises underestimate the task and probably spend more time and money on file restores than they think to recover their data. However, the survey also found that companies most efficient at file restoration through the use of deduplication complete restores in around one-third the average time of all respondents. The results of this study validate the gains deduplication provides U.S. businesses by minimizing the impact of file restores on IT resources and budgets.
