Earthquake upholds inevitable risks to the seismically active regions. Although this natural hazard is theoretically
defined and understood, but, no one is yet successful in predicting its occurrence and severity. This uncertainty
offers the opportunity to gain knowledge of the practices which involve planning, design & construction, and
response measures developed by the researchers of the earthquake engineering.
