Joe -- Thanks again for joining the fight to combat climate change and protect the environment. I wanted to give you an update on what happened: With 53 votes, the Senate narrowly rejected an effort to roll back protections from mercury and other forms of toxic air pollutions. They also were able to block -- but just barely -- an attempt to stop the EPA from limiting the carbon pollution that causes climate change. That's good news -- but those narrow margins of victory show we have our work cut out for us if we're going to make progress on combating climate change. We're up against interest groups willing to do whatever it takes to stop us. If we're going to demand better of our representatives in Washington, we'll need to build a grassroots team that can face down the powerful interests. Forward this email today and ask your friends to join our fight: http://my.barackobama.com/Fight-for-the-Environment Thanks, Ivan Ivan Frishberg Climate Campaign Manager Organizing for Action ---------------- Let's finish what we started.
