How will you fight climate change?

Organizing for Action
Joe --

Combating climate change is a big undertaking, and it's easy to forget that there are small steps we can all take in our local communities -- steps that can have a significant national impact.

OFA is fighting climate change locally in a few main ways: taking on climate change deniers in Congress, organizing Days of Action in communities across the country, and moving forward on a Switch to Clean drive -- which includes helping people switch their utility bills to clean energy, helping communities put up solar panels, and supporting state and local campaigns that encourage switching to clean energy.

Because you said you're interested in this fight, check out the ways you can get involved in New York:

Tell us what you would like to do to fight climate change where you live.

OFA's Switch to Clean drive will help supporters find out how they can switch their energy bill to clean sources. More and more communities across the country now have the option to sign up for clean energy -- and promoting this switch is another important, and easy, way we can join the fight against climate change locally, all while raising the demand for clean energy in your area.

Folks can also get involved by helping a local school, or community center go solar. Adding solar panels is a real and practical way to change how this country uses energy, one person at a time. It's easier than it sounds -- OFA will be holding conference calls for anyone interested in learning how to bring solar panels to their town.

Finally, we're going to keep organizing national Days of Action, where supporters can work on the ground locally with others who are passionate about this issue -- while knowing the same is happening in communities across the country. It's a great way to drive the conversation -- and grab headlines. On our last Day of Action, we presented climate change deniers in Congress with awards for their refusal to acknowledge climate science, and trust me, they noticed.

To get more involved in OFA's work to fight climate change, just let us know what you're interested in:
