Hey -- I don't need to tell you this, Joe: The government shutdown didn't need to happen. But some Republicans in Congress are so reckless and irresponsible that they're threatening to shut down the government again in just a few months. That's something our economy simply cannot afford. I won't be on the ballot ever again, but supporting Democrats who will be is the best way to keep moving our country forward. So step up now and start laying the groundwork for 2014. When Washington drifts from crisis to crisis every few months it doesn't just hurt our economy, it prevents us from making progress on other important issues.
