This is wrong - let's do something about it

Joe -- Yesterday, a minority of senators decided that 28 million Americans don't deserve a raise. Seriously, let that sink in for a minute. They voted to block a bill that would raise the federal minimum wage, and lift nearly a million people out of poverty. That's just wrong -- and it's time we stood up and said so. We launched a petition to raise the minimum wage, and we want everyone who thinks this is important to sign it -- make sure your name is on it today. Seven out of 10 Americans support raising the minimum wage, but that wasn't enough for the Senate. They voted against something that would have helped more than 14 million kids across the country, whose parents would benefit from raising the wage. President Obama has said over and over, if you work in this country, you shouldn't have to live in poverty -- that's something most Americans wholeheartedly agree with. And yet someone who earns the federal minimum wage and works full time makes just $14,500 a year. Apparently the 41 senators who stood in the way yesterday think that's enough to get by.
