Joe -- I wish this was a joke. Yesterday, Senator Ted Cruz -- the architect of last year's Tea Party-led shutdown -- said he wants to use "any and all means necessary" to stop the President from taking action that would help fix our broken immigration system. And that includes using the same tactics that led to the last government shutdown. Think about how crazy that sounds. When you think about the 120,000 jobs it cost, or the kids whose schools were forced to close during last year's shutdown, it's really not funny one bit. It's on us to stop another Tea Party-led shutdown before it starts -- add your name right now. What's worse is that the objection Senator Cruz is making is about as heartless as it gets. He's upset because the President took action to prevent the deportation of DREAMers -- children who grew up in this country, brought here through no fault of their own, and are Americans in every way but on paper. It only took a handful of extreme voices to shut down the government last year because they couldn't get their way on Obamacare. They still failed to get their way, but they were able to bring our government to a halt for more than two weeks, costing the country more than $24 billion. We can't let that happen again. Ever. Take a stand right now against another extreme plan to shut down the government: http://my.barackobama.com/Not-Again Thanks, Jon Jon Carson Executive Director Organizing for Action | |
