But Monday, lesbian and gay couples were married in Miami by the same judge who said she saw no reason they couldn’t immediately get their licenses. Florida will become the 36th U.S. state where same-sex marriages are legal statewide. The addition of Florida’s 19.9 million people means 70% of Americans now live in states where gay marriage is legal. The courtroom erupted in cheers when Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Sarah Zabel cleared the way for the licenses issued to Cathy Pareto and Karla Arguello, and Jeff and Todd Delmay. Then she presided over their weddings in a dual ceremony. More than 60% of voters approved an amendment to Florida’s constitution to ban same-sex marriages in 2008. But judges in Florida, as in many other states, found that such bans violate the U.S. Constitution’s guarantees of equal treatment and due process. U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle struck down the state’s gay marriage ban back in August, but he issued a stay of proceedings that expired Monday. On New Year’s Day, Hinkle clarified his order stating that all 67 Florida clerks are obliged to issue licenses starting Tuesday. Are any of you guys sick of hearing about faggots? BBC: An Israeli military court has sentenced a Palestinian man to three life terms for the abduction and murder of three Israeli teenagers in the West Bank. Hussam Qawasmeh, a member of Hamas, must also pay $63,000 (£41,000) in compensation to the victims’ families. Two other suspects were shot dead by Israeli forces in Hebron in September. The teenagers’ murders in June set off an escalating cycle of violence and led to a 50-day conflict between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza. The leader of Hamas, the Islamist group dominant in Gaza, said in an interview in August that a Hamas cell had killed the teenagers but had not acted on instructions from above. There is a manhunt going on for the shooter, and it isn’t clear now what the agenda was, but it appears most likely that it was another purposeful targeting of cops following the media agenda to encourage this behavior among the Negroes. The shooter looks to be an Arab, though he could be a mulatto or something else. NY Daily News: A manhunt was under way Tuesday for a suspect who shot and wounded two cops responding to a robbery in the Bronx, cops said. Cops released a photo and video of the wanted man and were offering a $12,000 reward for his capture. Another possible suspect was in custody after showing up at a Manhattan hospital suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. Officers Andrew Dossi, 30, and Aliro Pellerano, 38, finished their shift but were responding to an armed robbery call around 10:30 p.m. Monday in Fordham when they were shot, police said. Dossi suffered gunshot wounds to his left arm and the lower back and underwent surgery at St. Barnabas Hospital. Pellerano was shot in the chest and left arm and was listed in stable condition. Both were expected to survive. The officers were part of a five-member plainclothes team who were signing out after their shift ended when a call came in about an armed robbery at a grocery store near the precinct station house. When they arrived on the scene at the Welcome 2 Yemen deli at 363 E. 180th St., they observed two possible suspects near the corner of E. 184th St. The robbers had been described as wearing ski masks and puffy jackets. As the cops approached, one suspect fled into a Chinese restaurant on Tiebout Ave. while the other remained outside on the street. As two of the officers approached the man on the street, the suspect inside came out with his guns blazing. Police returned fire, cops said. The wounded cops have eight and nine years on the force. One of them fired once and the other fired three times. The armed robbers then fled on foot one block east to Marion Ave., where they carjacked a white Camaro. The car was later found near E. 188th St. and Park Ave. A black revolver was found nearby. Maybe, finally, the NYPD will go on strike until de Blasio, the SJW Mayor of NYC who encouraged protesters who were chanting that they wanted to kill cops, resigns his office. At one point, Duke says that he believes White people have a right to defend European Heritage, and O’Reilly suggests that there is no such thing as European Heritage. O’Reilly is in fact a hardcore anti-racist who would have been considered a communist extremist as late as the 1960s.  And yet here he is, the voice of conservative America. What is going on here? That reminds me I'm reading Robert Harris's series of political thrillers about the downfall of the Roman Republic, as narrated by Cicero's secretary slave Tiro (who I see is also the sidekick to the detective hero in Steven Saylor's gay Roman detective novel series). Several incidents from recent Mexican history would fit in well with 1st Century BC Roman history. Some of the continuing interest of terminal Republican Roman political history is that it's a multi-generational soap opera with the same families doing battle over and over. (Cicero was an oddity as a talented "new man" from the minor country gentry; but to help him in his political career he had a useful younger brother and an old money wife.) We are not even having to force this Dershowitz sex slave story to become about Jews – the Jews are doing that for us. Following Dershowitz’ own claims that this was part of a anti-Jew conspiracy against him, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, a celebrity rabbi who regularly writes op-eds and appears on cable news, wrote a piece in the New York Observer calling upon all Jews across the planet to unite to defend the filthy snake Dershowitz. Following the Dersh’s lead, Boteach compared the accusations to “historical defamations” such as blood libel and the Palestinian genocide. Putting aside that human sacrifice of Christian children (“blood libel” as the Jews call it) and the Palestinian genocide are real things that the Jews actually did, how is it that by claiming that allegations against a Jew are part of a conspiracy against Jews can’t be used in every possibly situation where a Jew is accused of anything? After all, Jeffrey Epstein – the character from which this case against the Dersh emerged – was a Jew accused of running sex slaves and then he was convicted in a federal court. Was that too an anti-Jewish conspiracy, even though the Jew actually did it? "Where are the Jewish leaders to rise to Mr. Dershowitz's defense?" Boteach writes. U-T San Diego: Methamphetamine seizures at U.S. ports of entry on the California-Mexico border reached unprecedented levels in fiscal 2014, as drug trafficking organizations strive to smuggle growing quantities of the low-cost Mexican-made product into the United States. U.S. Customs and Border Protection figures show 14,732 pounds of meth seized by the San Diego field office during the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, accounting for 63 percent of the synthetic drug seized at all land, air and sea ports of entry nationwide. With the California border as their main smuggling route, "the Mexican cartels are flooding the U.S. marketplace with their cheap methamphetamine," said Gary Hill, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's assistant special agent in charge in San Diego. Undercover agents are purchasing meth in San Diego for $3,500 a pound, versus about $11,800 for a pound of cocaine, Hill said. "We have seen the trend of the price of meth decreasing tremendously since 2008." Methamphetamine, a highly addictive synthetic drug, once was primarily produced in the United States, and San Diego was infamous as its manufacturing capital. But with a U.S. law enforcement crackdown on the precursor chemicals used to make meth, the drug is now largely produced in Mexico. The DEA estimates that 90 percent of the meth consumed in the United States is manufactured in labs south of the border.
