Learn More BMW i3 electric vehicle won green car award with help from Verne Global's Icelandic data center, CTO claims Verne Global, a UK company with a data centre in Iceland, has claimed that it played a key role in helping the BMW i3 to be crowned the green car of the year in 2014. The i3, driven by an emission-free electric motor, won the Green Car Journal's Green Car of the Year award last November at the Los Angeles auto show. Verne Global CTO Tate Cantrell told Techworld that BMW wanted to make sure everything for the i3 was sourced using green energy. The company hopes to repeat the success it had last year with the G3 and compete head-on with the Galaxy S6 from Samsung, arguably the best Android-based smartphone. But LG has chosen a slightly different approach on the inside and the outside.Like Samsung, LG used premium materials other than plastic. But instead of using a mixture of aluminium and glass, LG covered the back of the G4 in leather. There are six colors to choose from: black, red, brown, blue, beige and yellow.
