XpanDesk 3: Enlarge Your Workspace
Just released! XpanDesk is an update to PC Magazine's classic utility that allows you to have up to 9 separate desktops. The utility helps you organize your applications to fit the way you work. You can have your Web development tools on one desk while keeping you correspondence programs, like e-mail and messaging, on another. Or maybe you'd rather place your music programs and CD burner on one desk and your imaging applications on another. The choice is yours.

This major update to XpanDesk has several enhancements over the previous version:

  • Sports a new interface that shows each desktop and the wallpaper associated with it.
  • Allows you to dock the deskview.
  • Lets each desktop now have a specific screen resolution.
  • Permits each desktop to have icons placed in their own locations.
  • Contains the ability to launch specified applications when a desktop is activated.
  • Lets you access various desktops using its desktop context menu as well as XpanDesk's system tray icon and hotkeys.
