Intel Inside Next Macs, Jobs Says

Steve Jobs ushered in a new Mac era when he announced that
future Macs will trade in their IBM PowerPC CPUs for Intel
silicon. The Apple CEO said the transition to Intel chips
will be complete by 2007. "As we look ahead ... we can
envision great products we want to build, and we can't
envision how to build them with the current PowerPC
roadmap," Jobs said.
