Cisco routers caused major outage in Japan: report, 05/16/07:  Cisco routers were the source of a major outage May 15 in an NTT network in Japan, according to an investment firm bulletin.

Five challenges for Cisco:  Ahead of this week's Interop in Las Vegas, TechIQ's the VAR Guy has posted what he believes are five threats to Cisco's empire.

Cisco confirms HTTP unicode encoding evasion:  The U.S. Computer Emergency Response Team (US-CERT) has reported a network evasion technique using full-width and half-width unicode characters that affects several Cisco products.

Incipient debuts Cisco-based data migration feature, 05/16/07:  Incipient Networks today announced it has enhanced its storage virtualization software to support data migration and non-disruptive software upgrades.

Is there a Cisco medic in the house?:  For most of us cube workers the building emergency drill usually consists of the fire drill being activated and the office manager donning her orange jacket and yellow hard hat. Cisco employees at its Boxborough, Mass., facility painted fake blood on their bodies and wore signs around their necks with varying critical medical conditions written on them during the company's emergency response drill earlier this month.

From Brad Reese on Cisco blog: Cisco ranked 13th biggest user of foreign worker visa program:  InformationWeek is reporting that Cisco ranked 13th in using the H-1B visa foreign worker program.Thirty percent of the 65,000 visas issued went to nine Indian outsourcers such as Infosys, Satyam, Tata and Wipro.
