Cisco rival Juniper could reap some 4G rewards
Nokia Siemens, Lightsquared deal expected to pull router company inJuniper is expected to benefit from a multibillion dollar deal between Nokia Siemens Networks and Lightsquared, a 4G LTE operator turning up service in the US next year. According to a bulletin from investment firm UBS, NSN would most likely use partner Juniper's edge routers to backhaul traffic in this network, which could mean $50 million to $150 million in revenue annually for Juniper. Minnesota man pleads guilty to $388,000 parts scam Another Cisco cheater has been nabbed. Bloomberg Businessweek reports that a Minnesota man has pled guilty to defrauding Cisco out of $388,000 in a spare parts scam. Under a plea deal, Philip Webb of Brooklyn Park, MN., this week pled guilty to one count of mail fraud for selling Cisco replacements parts online. Channel checks show strong first half of fiscal 2011 but competition from HP and Juniper could eat into switching share Cisco's sales for its fiscal first quarter, which ended last month, are tracking ahead of expectations, according to a bulletin from Oppenheimer & Co.
