ANOTHER WEEK, ANOTHER FEW MILLION CONFIDENTIAL RECORDS LOST
It's beginning to get a little too routine. Nearly every week, some
well-known, highly respected financial institution a) loses, b)
misplaces, or c) has in its possession stolen confidential consumer
financial data.

AUDIT FINDS HOMELAND SECURITY IT NOT READY FOR DISASTER
IT operations within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) are

audit has found. The report, published Wednesday by the DHS Office of
Inspector General, found that nearly 80 percent of the department's
IT facilities lack fully operational data recovery sites.

IT'S TIME TO CONSIDER OVERHYPED SECURITY THREATS
WASHINGTON - Some security threats, including those aimed at IP

overblown, two Gartner analysts say, and they caution
that misplaced security concerns may distract from fighting real
problems.

PRODUCT GUIDE: DELL/EMC AX100I
The AX100i is truly a low-end iSCSI SAN solution. Initial setup and
normal administrative tasks are simple and straightforward, but key
components of an iSCSI SAN, such as jumbo-frame support, are missing. As
such, performance pales to local disk and other iSCSI storage networking
solutions. The performance seen in the lab suggests that this SAN is
suitable only for data archiving or file storage tasks.
