Microsoft Brings Tabbed Browsing Early to IE Late Wednesday Microsoft rolled out an updated version of its MSN Search Toolbar with Windows Desktop Search, complete with tabbed browsing, which makes Web browsing via Internet Explorer even simpler than before. Tabbed browsing has already been proved popular by Mozilla Firefox. Seagate's Drive Plans Include 500 GBs, Encryption From ExtremeTech: On Wednesday Seagate Technology unveiled its 2005 lineup, which takes drives to the half-terabyte level and introduces a product family that encrypts data. Over the course of the year, executives said, Seagate will unveil 12 new products incorporating the company's shift to perpendicular recording, a technique of aligning the magnetic grains within drives to increase storage density. XM Satellite Radio Adds Audio Books to the Mix In 2006, consumers can expect to use a handheld device to listen to XM Satellite Radio's music stations, as well as audiobooks and other spoken-word tracks courtesy of Audible. The two aural entertainment providers announced their exclusive partnership on Tuesday, which will bring together XM's 150 music and talk-radio channels and Audible's 70,000 hours of audio content, including material from audio-book publishers, broadcasters, entertainers, and magazine and newspaper publishers.
