Cisco agrees to buy call-center vendor Latigent, 09/27/07: Cisco has agreed to buy Latigent, a vendor of call center reporting tools, and plans to integrate Latigent's products with its unified customer contact center systems.

Cisco to buy a WiMAX base station vendor?, 09/28/07: Cisco is rumored to be in the market for a WiMAX base station vendor, according to Unstrung.com. The news story cites two unnamed "industry sources" for the rumored purchase, which would give Cisco an infrastructure play in the global WiMAX market. Potential targets mentioned in the story are the usual suspects: Alvarion, Aperto Networks, and Redline Communications, all with established products and a number of deployments.

Cisco networking skills shortage nightmare only a bad dream?, 10/01/07: "In Europe we will be short of half a million people skilled in networking. Cisco is aiming to address this gap because it doesn’t matter if we release a new product every day; if there is no one there to implement it to the end user, then it doesn’t make much sense," said Thierry Drilhon - vice president of European channels at Cisco.

Cisco, China's Haier in home networking deal, 09/25/07: Cisco has entered into a partnership with Haier, the largest manufacturer of large home appliances in China, that will allow the companies to work together on a number of projects, including information infrastructure and home-networking systems.
