Phishers won't stop as long as users continue to click, 10/09/07: Carnegie Mellon University is researching the best ways to educate e-mail users about the dangers of phishing, such as how to distinguish the URL of a fraudulent Web site from a legitimate one. Not exactly rocket science…or is it? Juniper links its NAC, IDP platforms, 10/08/07: Juniper Networks is linking its intrusion-detection platforms to its NAC gear, making it possible to restrict devices that manage to gain network access by passing health checks but then pose a threat once they are on. IE, Outlook, Word get critical bug fixes, 10/09/07: Microsoft has released six security updates for its products, fixing critical flaws in Word, Outlook Express, Internet Explorer and the Kodak image viewer that ships with Windows. Secure your wireless networks people!: Microsoft Subnet blogger Tyson Kopczynski writes: " While driving through the SF Bay (680 to 80) area and again through the Sacramento area, I don't think that there was a single mile without at least one unsecure wireless network. … what really amazed me where the random SSIDs that clearly belonged to companies."
