IBM ties OpenOffice suite to real-time communications platform, 10/11/07: IBM Thursday said it would integrate its new Symphony productivity tools and its Sametime platform to provide users the ability to share documents and communicate in real time. IBM Gas Gauge lets mainframe customers see energy use in real time, 10/12/07: Big Blue recently launched a program that lets mainframe customers monitor energy use in real time. IBM’s metering system works by grabbing energy and cooling statistics from internal sensors that are now standard equipment in the company’s System z9 mainframes. The stats are shown real time on the System Activity Display. With this system, a user can now correlate the energy consumed with work actually performed. |

Stick with Riverbed for application acceleration. They are the best of breed solution out there in my opinion. As an engineer, working for a Cisco partner that is also partnered with Riverbed, we have found that Riverbed has the best WAN optimization technology. I have a lot of comparison data on all the competitors if anyone is interested. Forrester, Gartner, etc...
