Analysts pull Mac sales numbers out of a hat Second-quarter estimates of Mac sales by Gartner and IDC split yesterday, with the former saying Apple's numbers were up over the same quarter last year and the latter saying they were down.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is hosting two meetings this week one in New York City and the other in London to discuss the trademark and cybersecurity issues surrounding its plan to introduce hundreds of new top-level domains into the Internet.
Will Twitter Sue TechCrunch? Will Twitter take legal action against Web sites that publish the company's confidential documents, which were leaked by a hacker? Although the micro-blog isn't coming right out and saying it, Twitter co-founder Evan Williams published a blog post yesterday suggesting legal action was a possibility.

Kevin Turner, Microsoft COO, is claiming Apple lawyers called him requesting Microsoft stop running the "laptop hunter" ads based upon outdated pricing information. Apple recently updated their laptop line and lowered some of their prices, something that was much needed as Apple's prices were a step above the price improvements we've been seeing.
