| Standards group delays new bus specification A standards group on Tuesday said it has delayed the release of a new bus specification that could help PCs run faster by speeding up data transfer rates. Obama's CTO gets warm welcome in Silicon Valley The Democrats aren't usually seen as the party of business but the United States' first national CTO, appointed by President Barack Obama in May, got a warm welcome at his first public appearance in Silicon Valley Tuesday. OpenGL 3.2 Released at SIGGRAPH At the SIGGRAPH graphics conference in New Orleans this week, the Khronos Group announced the release of OpenGL 3.2. The new revision of the graphics API standard, along with the accompanying OpenGL Shading Language 1.50, adds quite a few new features. The focus is on improving performance, providing options for better visual quality, and making porting from Direct3D easier.
