Cisco gets boost from upgrade
Cisco's stock jumped as much as 5% Monday after a bullish report on its first quarter prospects. Investment firm Barclays upgraded Cisco stock and raised estimates for the quarter due in part to improved demand among carriers. Cisco's stock ended Monday up 4.38%. Cisco thanks NIST for its time on smart grid
Cisco this week "noted its appreciation" for the work that the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) put into the development of the draft the NIST Framework and Roadmap for Smart Grid Interoperability Standards - Release 1.0. In a statement on its appreciation however, Cisco did not come out and tacitly support or endorse the draft.
