Wednesday: Join the Fair Elections house party in Brooklyn

Organizing for Action
Joe --

We're taking the fight for fair elections in New York to the next level this week.

Advocates across the state are inviting family, friends, and fellow supporters like you into their homes for Fair Elections house parties, and there's one in Brooklyn this Wednesday.

Can you make it? Here are the details:

What: Fair Elections house party in Brooklyn

Where:
Brooklyn, NY 11231

When: Wednesday, April 10th
6:00 pm

RSVP now

Supporters are gathering to watch a short film and learn more about how we can take action in the coming weeks to ensure that the state legislature passes Fair Elections this session.

We're getting together because contributions from special interests, corporations, and lobbyists are overpowering individual voters in New York elections. Weak disclosure requirements compound the problem, and middle-class New Yorkers lose out to special-interest groups with more money and power.

But even if every single New Yorker supported fair elections, it wouldn't matter if we didn't organize.

Our strength as a movement has always lied in the willingness of regular people to speak out and take action -- and your participation is critical.

It only takes a minute to RSVP for the house party near you:

New York is poised to become a leader in campaign finance reform and set an example for the nation: If and when we win, the nation will look to us as an example -- publicly financed elections are a feasible solution to the unmitigated influence of corporate cash in campaigns.

Now, let's get it done.

Thanks for all you do. I hope to see you out there this week,

Kate
