October 13, 2014: Guerrero Government offices in Chilpancingo are in flames.

Chilpancingo municipal president, Mario Moreno, reports that teachers and student teachers have entered the Palace of Government in Chilpancingo where Governor Angel Heladio Aguirre has his offices, and they are burning down everything in their path.

"The photographs I'm being sent show three buildings in flames, which is a serious matter because they represent an institution. There are police weapons inside one of them", he said in an interview with Raymundo Riva Palacio, on the news program Al Instante, transmitted on Radio Capital.

One of the seven buildings which make up the government headquarters is totally engulfed in flames, and the firemen have not yet gotten there.

The office of the governor has been totally destroyed.

"There are 800 State Police personnel in those buildings", added the municipal official.

"El Ricalde" Arrested

Carlo Alessandro Ricalde Barosio, alias "El Ricalde", was arrested October 8 in the Las Plazas Outlet commercial plaza in the municipality of Lerma, México state along with Juan Uriel Hernández Mandujano.

"El Ricalde" was a police officer in Huixquilucan, México state from 2003 to 2009.  Eventually, he began working for the Beltrán Leyva Cartel alongside Óscar Osvaldo García Montoya, alias "El Compayito" in the cell of Gerardo Alvarez Vázquez, alias "El Indio".

He was reported to have participated in the infamous execution of 24 individuals in La Marquesa in November 2008.  In 2009, he participated in the killing of a fellow police officer and left the police force thereafter.  He is also an alleged participant in the killing of the Huixquilucan police officer Pedro Martínez Álvarez in November 2010.

Following the August 2011 arrest of "El Compayito", he was accused along with Daniel Fernández Domínguez, alias "El Pelacas" of the May 2010 kidnapping of Diego Fernández de Cevallosfor which a reward of 500,000 pesos was offered for information leading to the arrest of the individual(s) responsible.

In late 2010, "El Ricalde" fled to Aguascalientes along with "El Pelacas", where they joined La Oficina.  Around May of this year he returned to the state of México and was in charge of the sale and distribution of drugs.  At the time of his arrest, he was meeting with other members of "La Oficina", according to state officials.  While he resisted arrest, his bodyguards attempted to rescue him, shooting the vehicles in which he was being transported to prison.  However, no police officers or civilians were injured.

Chapo Guzman Public Enemy number 1

Chivis Martinez for Borderland Beat-thanks Nuttz for the heads up

I wasn't expecting to watch the entire 60 Minutes segment on Chapo's capture, but it is surprisingly good,  with new information. If I had known it was presented by Bill Whitaker I would have been more excited.

Whitaker has followed the Mexican drug war for decades, and his passion to learn in depth,  has always assured that even the most schooled narco war followers will learn something new and deeper by his reporting.

I have tried to embed the entire 60 minutes segment without success. But I was able to present these clips.
In the segment we learn tidbits such as Chapo escaped in his underwear, and his group consisting of his wife, the toddler twins, nanny, chef and bodyguard, moved to Mazatlan, after escaping Culiacan. However there were two women in the tunnel with Chapo, and a male.

After the near capture in Culiacan, they dumped their blackberries and acquired new cells, 5 days later the DEA agency was able to trace one of the phones to Chapo's body guard, Carlos Manuel Hoo, alias "El Condor".  The DEA quickly shared the information with Mexican Marines.

At exactly 6:40 a.m. the Mexican Marines crashed through the door of Chapos Maztlan condo, Hoo seeing the red beams of laser sights on his chest, threw down his weapon and up went his hands in the motion of surrender.

Chapo's wife was found naked standing by the master bedroom bed and hiding behind the bathroom door was the most sought after man in the world, Chapo Guzman.

Below is a photo from PGR, 60 minutes says it is Chapo's wife, she was taken in to custody and supposedly this photo was taken.  The next below is of the chef also taken into custody.

Chapo thrived exploiting weaknesses;

Did the Mexican Government protect the Sinaloa Cartel?
