GOOGLE'S WI-FI PLAN FOR SAN FRANCISCO ENVISIONS AMBITIOUS TESTING GROUND

Google Inc. wrote grandly of the importance of Wi-Fi in a proposal for
free wireless in San Francisco that was made public on the Web Monday,
but the search company downplayed its own potential role in delivering
Internet service.

USERS AWASH IN EMERGING WIRELESS OPTIONS

The days of simply giving traveling employees a cell phone for talking
and a laptop for dial-up data are long gone, replaced by a complex
landscape of overlapping choices. There are decisions to be made
regarding devices, carrier contracts, performance and reach -- with all
the major technologies offering moving targets to boot.

MAKING A ROUTINE OF CITIZEN JOURNALISM

Compared with New Orleans we've got little to complain about, but
last week's torrential rains did flood parts of southwestern New
Hampshire pretty badly. The town of Alstead, 15 miles north of my home
in Keene, got the worst of it: roads crippled, a clutch of homes swept
away, several people killed. In Keene, folks were evacuated by boat from
homes all along Beaver Brook, and more than a few furnaces and water
heaters were wrecked when basements took on five and six feet of water.

The MXV250 offers all the sophistication and features of Maxxan's
larger MXV500, but in a smaller and less expensive package suitable for
smaller SANs. The wide array of available features gives admins plenty
of flexibility in meeting business requirements for a SAN. The two
separate management apps for configuration and management may give
pause.
