IBM, Red Hat team to reinforce Linux on mainframes, 05/09/07:  IBM and Red Hat Wednesday announced a partnership to deploy and support Red Hat’s Linux software on IBM’s System z mainframes.

Analysts squash rumors of 150k IBM layoffs, 05/07/07:  A report by Robert Cringely on the PBS Web site says IBM is planning to lay off 150,000 U.S. workers by the end of this calendar year, but analysts who cover IBM doubt the report is accurate.

IBM and Amazon.com settle all patent litigation, 05/08/07:  Amazon.com has paid IBM an undisclosed amount of money to settle all outstanding patent lawsuits between the two companies. They have also agreed a long-term patent cross-licensing agreement, giving Amazon access to IBM's patents on Web technology, the vendors said.
