Big Blue turning its data centers green, 08/01/07: IBM Wednesday said it will consolidate nearly 4,000 PC servers onto mainframes running Linux in a move that will cut $250 million from the cost of operating its six major data centers.

IBM’s ISS announces virtual e-mail security appliance, 08/01/07: IBM Internet Security Systems (ISS) on Wednesday announced a virtual e-mail security appliance that runs alongside other applications on a single piece of hardware, instead of requiring a dedicated device.

IBM helps customers get a supercomputer on the cheap, 07/31/07: IBM ratcheted the world of supercomputing up a few notches in June with the Blue Gene/P, a system nearly three times as fast as its predecessor at a cost of $1.3 million per rack.
