Storm Worm Botnet Update. The Storm Worm is making headlines once again after an exponential rise in the number of “zombie” computers infected by the worm. SecureWorks first published research on the Storm Worm and it’s botnet and as recently as May the total zombie count was fewer than 3,000. Since then, the total count has risen dramatically to more than 1.7 million in June and July – making it one of the largest botnets ever seen. During this same period, SecureWorks has blocked more than 20 million attacks which have been directly attributed to Storm Worm. >> Read More
