VMware goes open source with desktop virtualization release VMware has released open source desktop virtualization software designed to let its business partners optimize thin clients for the delivery of personalized virtual desktops. OpenChange, KDE bring Exchange compatibility to Linux Recent developments in the OpenChange and KDE open source projects are set to bridge a "missing link" in messaging and groupware compatibility from Microsoft's Exchange to open source clients. Thin clients now as flexible as PCs, claims Igel Igel Technology has introduced a family of thin clients, called Universal Desktop, which it claims is the first to have single standard system images across the range.
