There needs to be more noise and a lot of it from the DoD and other US
government
departments saying that they won't do any future business from anyone
without an IPv6
reachable website before anyone will even begin to take it seriously...
I'm trying to push
it internally, but sleeping giants move slowly...

Some of you may recall an IPv6 availability in commercial firewalls
study/survey I did in 2007 with ICANN's SSAC.

We tried to do a second, broader survey in 2009. The formal public
announcement for the survey was posted at ICANN at
http://www.icann.org/en/announcements/announcement-2-01mar10-en.htm

We were unable to get sufficient responses from vendors to draw any
credible conclusions regarding change/improvement over the 2007 survey
results.

We also invited users to respond. If you are inclined, you can
participate in the survey online at:
http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/?p=WEB22A9WG4UQWG

I left it open despite the closing date because of the disappointing
numbers of responses. FWIW, I think the user data are better and would
be very glad to see more takers.

Regards,

Dave
