Joe -- Right now, Illinois has the opportunity to become one of the nation's leaders in adopting clean-energy sources -- with more solar and wind power produced in the state. The state legislature is currently in a special session, and they're considering a bill to strengthen the state's renewable energy standard, keeping the state on track to hit its goal of reaching 25 percent renewable energy by 2025. Add your name to OFA's petition, and join the call for Illinois legislators to strengthen the renewable energy standard. The biggest progress in renewable energy today is happening at the state level. While Congress has failed to act on climate, the states and the EPA continue to push ahead with renewable energy and solutions to climate change. Illinois is already one of the leading states in the country for wind production, but the development of new wind and solar has ground to a halt in the last couple of years -- something this legislation will change by strengthening the incentive to buy renewable energy produced in state. The legislature's got to make that fix -- and because they're in a special session through next week, this is a great time to put the pressure on. Add your name to our petition, and tell state legislators that it's time to act for a cleaner Illinois: http://il.barackobama.com/Cleaner-Energy-For-Illinois Thanks, Ivan Ivan Frishberg Climate Campaign Manager Organizing for Action ---------------- The other side will spend millions to maintain the status quo.
