Joe -- We're seeing some encouraging progress in job creation and our growing economy. But if more members of Congress would do their part -- instead of, say, suing the President -- we could be doing a lot more to build opportunity for working Americans. That's why we talk so much about raising the minimum wage, making college more affordable, and closing the pay gap between men and women. Today, OFA volunteers across the country are spreading that message as part of a national Day of Action. You should join in. This graphic helps put these issues into perspective -- check it out and share it right now: It makes it hard to think about why some members of Congress don't seem interested in doing their part. If Congress raised the federal minimum wage, 28 million Americans would get a raise. Passing the Paycheck Fairness Act could help change the sad reality that, on average, women earn 77 cents for every dollar a man makes. And with our national student loan debt surpassing $1 trillion -- higher than our credit and auto debt -- we could do more to help graduates save for the future. Congress is home for August recess right now. It's so important that we make our voices heard in our own communities, to make sure when they're back in session next month, they know what's important to the people they represent. Pass along this powerful graphic today and help be a champion for economic opportunity.
