They were told Australia's democratic government has to go in favour of an Islamic Caliphate ruled by Sharia Law. A hospital nurse murdered three patients and poisoned 18 others by contaminating saline bags and ampoules with insulin, a court heard. Victorino Chua, 49, also deliberately altered the dosages on prescription charts while working as a staff nurse at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, Manchester Crown Court was told. In all, 21 patients suffered as a result of his actions with three of them murdered, Tracey Arden, 44, Arnold Lancaster, 71, and Derek Weaver, 83, jurors heard. Chua, a Filipino who first came to the UK in 2002 and had worked at Stepping Hill since 2009, sat in the dock listening impassively as Peter Wright QC, began outlining the prosecution case against him. Chua has pleaded not guilty to 36 charges in all, including the three alleged murders. Arnold Lancaster was murdered by the nurse at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport. The other charges are made up of, one count of grievous bodily harm with intent, 23 counts of attempted grievous bodily harm, eight counts of attempting to cause a poison to be administered and one count of administering a poison. All of the offences are said to have happened between June 2011 and January 2012. Mr Wright said following a massive police investigation a ‘pattern’ began to emerge and the killer was identified. He told the jury of 10 men and two women: ‘The pieces of the forensic jigsaw began to emerge. ‘The person responsible for each of these matters became increasingly clear. It was, we say, Victorino Chua. Prosecutors say 83-year-old Alfred Derek Weaver, who also died in 2011, was another of Chua’s victims. ‘As the investigation intensified, the common denominator, the defendant, was shown in sharper and sharper relief. ‘Motive for this course of conduct, whomsoever is responsible, is difficult to determine with precision. ‘Only the person responsible could ever know why they would embark on such conduct.’ Mr Wright said it was the prosecution’s job to prove Chua was responsible, not to say exactly why, or ‘what caused him to turn from a man who had dedicated his life to caring for others, to harming them’. Chua had worked on two wards, A1 and A3, at the hospital – but it was a ‘lottery’ as to which patients were harmed, with the saline bags and ampoules contaminated with insulin by him to then be used by other unsuspecting doctors and nurses on innocent patients. Police said 19 protestors were taken into custody during the demonstration, which started about 2:30 p.m. Calling it "civil disobedience," organizers said they planned to block traffic for 4½ hours — the time 18-year-old Michael Brown "was left in the street after being killed by a police officer" in Ferguson, Missouri, a local NBC affiliate reported. Oldest Gospel in the World Soon to be Published Posted: 20 Jan 2015 04:00 PM PST Sven Longshanks Daily Stormer January 21, 2015 Some scholars have criticised the practice of destroying masks made of papyrus (an example is shown) in order to recover the texts used to make them, but Professor Evans says the ones he has worked on – and the one in which the fragment of gospel was found – are not of museum quality. A fragment from the Gospel of Mark believed to have been written during the first century AD is about to be published. It was written in Greek and was found in Egypt, as such it is a valuable part of European heritage, for Christian and non-Christian alike. This adds to the proof that the gospels date right back to the time they were said to have been written in. Classical Greek texts including the poetry of Homer, biblical documents, business papers and dated letters have also been recovered so far from masks. Papyrus was expensive and so it was recycled to make masks. This famous ancient Egyptian papyrus, which was not recycled, is from the Book of the Dead. Live Science: A text that may be the oldest copy of a gospel known to exist — a fragment of the Gospel of Mark that was written during the first century, before the year 90 — is set to be published. At present, the oldest surviving copies of the gospel texts date to the second century (the years 101 to 200). This first-century gospel fragment was written on a sheet of papyrus that was later reused to create a mask that was worn by a mummy. Although the mummies of Egyptian pharaohs wore masks made of gold, ordinary people had to settle for masks made out of papyrus (or linen), paint and glue. Given how expensive papyrus was, people often had to reuse sheets that already had writing on them. In recent years scientists have developed a technique that allows the glue of mummy masks to be undone without harming the ink on the paper. The text on the sheets can then be read. The first-century gospel is one of hundreds of new texts that a team of about three-dozen scientists and scholars is working to uncover, and analyze, by using this technique of ungluing the masks, said Craig Evans, a professor of New Testament studies at Acadia Divinity College in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. “We’re recovering ancient documents from the first, second and third centuries. Not just Christian documents, not just biblical documents, but classical Greek texts, business papers, various mundane papers, personal letters,” Evans told Live Science. The documents include philosophical texts and copies of stories by the Greek poet Homer. When the glue was dissolved, the researchers dated the first-century gospel in part by analyzing the other documents found in the same mask. One drawback to the process is that the mummy mask is destroyed, and so scholars in the field are debating whether that particular method should be used to reveal the texts they contain. But Evans emphasized that the masks that are being destroyed to reveal the new texts are not high quality ones that would be displayed in a museum. Some are not masks at all but are simply pieces of cartonnage. Evans told Live Science, “We’re not talking about the destruction of any museum-quality piece.” The technique is bringing many new texts to light, Evans noted. “From a single mask, it’s not strange to recover a couple dozen or even more” new texts, he told Live Science. “We’re going to end up with many hundreds of papyri when the work is done, if not thousands.”
