Scott Walker Faces Another Smear Campaign

By Michael Reagan

Obamacare was designed and implemented by experts with advanced degrees. United States foreign policy is designed and implemented by experts with advanced degrees. Immigration and amnesty policies are designed and implemented by experts with advanced degrees. President Barack Obama is an expert — with an advanced degree.

The previous list of disasters and the latest unemployment statistics are two reasons why diplomas don't come with money–back guarantees. The line of disgruntled customers would far exceed that of your typical Black Friday door-buster sale.

The fact one has an advanced degree from even an Ivy League school is no assurance of competence, or even good sense. If you have doubts, Google Jonathan Gruber. Speaking of good sense, this list is also another reason the mainstream media's attack on Gov. Scott Walker, R–Wis., will get about as much traction as a golf cart in a Green Bay winter.

Walker is the governor who took on entrenched public employee unions, winning a great victory for conservatives and taxpayers. Working with the legislature he passed a bill that made membership in government unions optional rather than mandatory.

The reaction was instantaneous and brutal. Public employee unions knew that coercion was the only method of keeping many employees in the union and funding union political campaign donations. Without money to donate to politicians and spend on campaigns, the unions would become just another interest group trying to capture disinterested legislators, like the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Walker fought efforts to pack the state supreme court. He fought and won a recall election. And Walker fought out–of–control Democratic prosecutors trying to use the power of the state to smear his campaign and defeat his re–election effort.

He met the Left head on, walking away victorious. Now the Democratic media is trying to stop his potential 2016 presidential campaign by claiming Walker isn't qualified to be president because he didn't graduate from college.

In contrast to many media attacks, this is actually true. Walker left during his senior year and did not return. But as Walker told the Washington Post, "I've got a master's degree in taking on the big-government special interests and I think that is worth more than anything else that anybody can point to."

It's certainly vastly more experience than the advanced degree holder currently occupying the White House has. It doesn't put Walker out of step with the nation. Census Bureau statistics show that only 32 percent of the population has finished college.

Most voters will look at Walker's experience, accomplishments and platform before making their voting decision and won't fret over a missing diploma. Why? Because they know experts in Washington with degrees are a dime a dozen, but real world experience is priceless.
