Cisco rival Juniper demos 100G Ethernet
Cisco rival Juniper last week demonstrated 100Gbps Ethernet interoperability with a handful of other vendors at the OFC/NFOEC optical networking conference in San Diego. The live demonstration involved Juniper's T1600 core router with passing 100G traffic back and forth with an optical transport system using two different CFP transceivers conforming to the IEEE 802.3ba 100GBASE-LR4 draft standard. ... The Future of Big Iron
Do your IT plans include mainframes? Participate in this Aberdeen survey and see how your plans stack up to those of peers in terms of on what core applications are staying on mainframes and where the industry is headed in operating and software architecture.
