This Thursday: Make a difference on unemployment insurance in Chicago

Organizing for Action
Joe --

Congress is home this week -- now is the time to make sure they hear from constituents about their failure to extend unemployment insurance.

In Illinois, 64,300 people have already been left out in the cold by Congress.

Senator Kirk heartlessly voted last week to stop these critical benefits.

We're coming together this Thursday in Chicago at Senator Kirk's office to make all our voices heard.

RSVP now to be part of it.

Here are the details:

What: Call on Senator Kirk to renew unemployment insurance

Where: Chicago Temple
77 W. Washington Street
Chicago, IL 60602

When: Thursday, January 23rd
12:00 p.m.

RSVP now

Since Congress failed to act on renewing emergency unemployment insurance, more than 1.3 million Americans struggling to find work were cut off from this critical safety net -- and another 72,000 are projected to lose their benefits every week during the first half of 2014.

These families rely on unemployment benefits to get back on their feet -- and cutting out this program is already dealing a devastating blow to so many.

OFA supporters are getting together to make sure these families are heard by Congress.

Join us in Chicago on Thursday and tell Senator Kirk to stop turning his back on thousands of his constituents:
