                     Online Session on Introduction to Functional Safety, Standards and Regulatory Compliance

CII has been organizing various online session series in the past. CII Southern Region took the initiative in organizing the Online Session Series on Automation this year. We are organizing 3 series in Safety and the theme for first series will be Automation Series (Safety) 3.1 : Introduction to Functional Safety, Standards. The Online Session is scheduled on 24 March 2014 between 1100 hrs-1300 hrs.

Introduction:

Meeting new functional safety standards is just the ante. While compliance is a requirement, taking advantage of contemporary safety technologies can also significantly improve overall machine performance compared to conventional architectures. The series is designed to provide attendees with a clear understanding of functional safety standards and technologies, and a path forward to improving both machine safety and overall machine performance.

Speaker Profile:

Mr Rajendran Menon is the Product Manager for Safety, Sensing and Connectivity business in Rockwell Automation, India.  He has 14 years of experience in electrical Automation and manufacturing industries.  Menon is a TUV Certified Functional Safety Engineer and is part of the Safety Marketing Team.  Menon has the primary responsibility for driving Safety in machinery  in India and works closely with the machine manufacturers and end users for effective implementation of safety in their machines. Menon represents Rockwell Automation in educational events, trade magazines and other knowledge forums.

Note

·         CII will not be responsible for any disturbance in the broadcast due to IT/ Network disruptions at the participants end

·         Participation cancellation should  be intimated to CII at least 48 hrs prior to the scheduled class

·         The fee is non refundable if the participation is cancelled within 48 hrs of the class

·         The expertise is susceptible to change based on the availability of the faculty.
