Siege of Bastogne:

In the first half of Wednesday's show, author Jerome Corsi discussed his recent work on the Siege of Bastogne-- one of the most heroic victories of WWII-- with a focus on the surprising faith of the Americans who fought there. Just about 70 years ago, in December of 1944, an outmanned, outgunned, and surrounded US force fought Hitler's overwhelming Panzer divisions to a standstill at Bastogne, a town in Belgium. The siege was part of the larger Battle of the Bulge, a surprise German offensive staged toward the end of WWII in France, Belgium, and Luxemborg. The attacks caught the Allied Forces off guard, and US troops sustained some of their heaviest casualties.

Corsi recounted stories of courage of the chaplains and medics at Bastogne, and how the US troops fearlessly put themselves in danger and in the line of fire. Patton understood that Hitler was desperate at this point, and his battle plan was poor strategically, as the Germans were quickly outrunning their supply lines. There were terrible odds facing the US troops at Bastogne including bitter cold weather, he remarked, but it was as though their faith seemed to miraculously drive the troops to another level of inspiration fighting Nazi Germany, which they knew to be truly evil.

Last Days Prophecy:

In the latter half, author, filmmaker, and internationally recognized teacher Joel Richardson spoke about his research into biblical prophecies of the Last Days, as well as Islamic prophecies and messianic figures. Richardson lived in the Middle East for a period in the 1990s, and has studied and compared the Bible's 'last days' prophecies to Muslim apocalyptic end times beliefs. While there is a tremendous amount of similarity between the writings of the two cultures, "the good guys of the Bible are essentially the bad guys on the Islamic side," he noted. For instance, if you look at the group ISIS, he cited how they believe it's their divine destiny to take Jerusalem, invade the Middle East, and vanquish everyone who doesn't submit to their belief system.

"When we compare the events of the Earth today with the words of the prophets, there are things that are absolutely falling into alignment, and we can't deny the fact that we are in the early stages of the last days," Richardson commented. He suggested that the Antichrist will arise out of an Islamic state, most likely from Syria, Iraq or Turkey. Further, he asserted that this Antichrist figure will initially be aligned to a moderate, friendly-to-the-West form of Islam, but behind the facade, he'll be "as rabid as Osama bin Laden." Today in Strangeness:

On November 27, 1830, St. Catherine Laboure experienced a vision of the Virgin Mary standing on a globe and emanating rays of light from her hands. Violence broke out among Cabbage Patch doll shoppers on this day in 1983.
